How to write HTML for websites.

HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language.It is the foundation of web pages(although some use flash,CSS, and other languages).Every time you want to make a program you have to have: a language, an editor, and a compiler. For HTML, the language is HTML. For the editor we can use a variety of sources but the best is notepad. For the compiler you can use your browser (Google Chrome, IE, Firefox, Opera,etc).
When you save HTML in notepad make sure the tag (.txt,.html,.doc,etc) is .html. This is essencial for this to work. If you don't you will be frusturated and it will not work.So when you click save as type whateveryourfilenameis.html.(it will say *.txt where you are supposed to type this in)
Getting Started:
Open notepad.
Type:(after each <and > push enter for a new line)
<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE>
</TITLE>
<BODY>
</BODY>
</HEAD>
</HTML>
Done. (don't type Done.)
In between:
<TITLE>
</TITLE>
Type whatever you want to show up in the "tabs" bar at the top of your browser and at the top of the webpage.
In between
<BODY>
</BODY>
Type what you want on the whole page. You can also add other things. Like change the color of the text and backround.
Color of the text:
<FONT COLOR = "COLORHERE">
Color of the backround:
<BODY BGCOLOR = "COLORHERE">
To break (set words on next line) sentences use:
<BR>
Also try Paragraph:
<P>
Underline, Bold, and Italics
<U>,<B>,<I>
Also when writing make sure to close tags. Example:
<U>Hello. I need to stop underlining so I use the close tag. </U> Now it has stopped.
Here are some other websites you can refer to.

This is also an excellent converter (if you want to make your own website and show itemes like < and >...they require certain things for < and > to show up):

Netbooks and what to get

The perfect netbook is the Asus EEE PC 1005 HAB.
You can get it from bestbuy or bestbuy.com.
It is $300.00.(I recommend getting a wireless mouse and external DVD/CD player.)
Pros:
Light
Cheap
Good keyboard(Plus full row of F1-12 keys,Pause/break, print scr/sysrq, Insert, and delete keys))
Good Speakers (for a netbook)
Good Webcam
Operating System is decent
Very nice multiguesture touch-pad
Fast
Small
Efficient
Nice battery life
Is just totally aweome!!!
Cons:
There are some bad things about the OS (operating system) Windows 7 starter...for example: unable to change background (can use 3rd party programs to get around this), Windows 7 Starter does not include:
* Aero Glass, meaning you can only use the Windows Basic or other opaque themes. It also means you do not get Taskbar Previews or Aero Peek.
* Personalization features for changing desktop backgrounds, window colors, or sound schemes.(You can do this through 3rd party apps)
* The ability to switch between users without having to log off.
* 64 bit version
* Multi-monitor support. (which means you can plug in projecters,monitors,etc but you can't have two seperate screen...they will show up in both but you do not get an extra screen with it)
* DVD playback. (to get out of this one i use VLC media player...you can download it from the internet...it plays almost any type of video or audio file...for free)
* Windows Media Center for watching recorded TV or other media.
* Remote Media Streaming for streaming your music, videos, and recorded TV from your home computer.
* Domain support for business customers.
* XP Mode for those that want the ability to run older Windows XP programs on Windows 7.
the computer is gets REALLY REALLY DIRTY quickly.
sometimes with some programs they have problems because of the screen resolution(most of which you can get around but still sometimes it's a hassle)
that's it!

"PC VS MAC"

Today, there are lots of commercials. There are commercials about food, home furnishings, hair, everything. A significant number of commercials are about electronics. One such commercial, hosted by Apple, says “I’m a PC. And I’m a Mac.” It goes on to say how much better “Macs” are than “PCs”. This is a big problem, because it makes people think they “know” computer’s as “PCs” and “Macs”. This paper is devoted to showing you how they are wrong using two dictionaries, my computer knowledge, and common sense. According to The American Heritage College Dictionary, Third Edition, a personal computer is “ A microcomputer fro use by an individual, as in an office or at home”. It also defines a “microcomputer’ as “A very small computer [as compared to computer’s that take up a whole room] built around a microprocessor and designed to be used by one person at a time”. According to The McGraw Hill Children’s Dictionary: Wordsmyth Reference Series, a personal computer is, “a small computer used by one person or a few people; microcomputer”. It also defines “microcomputers” as “ a small computer that is designed for use by a single person. Microcomputers are used by small business and in homes. They are also known as personal computer”. So, according to two different dictionaries including a college and children’s one, they are small computer that people can use. What is a computer? Still using the children’s dictionary, it is “an electronic [uses electricity] device that is used to store and sort information and work with data at a high speed.”

According to the college dictionary, a “computer” is “a device that computes esp. [especially] a programmable electronic device that performs high-speed operations or assembles, stores, correlates or otherwise processes information.” According to the college dictionary, “operating system”, means “software that controls the hardware and application programs of a specific system”.

According o the children’s dictionary, these are the definitions for “operate and “system” (as there is no entry for “operating system): to work or un” and “ a particular way or method of doing something”. Macintosh, commonly referred to as “Mac”, is an operating system. How can you compare “ a small programmable electronic devise” to “software that controls the hardware”? According tot the children’s dictionary, hardware is “computer parts and equipment”. Software is “any of the programs that are written to operate a computer”. Hardware are things you can touch. Software is something you can’t. “ PCs” are hardware and “Mac” is software. You can not operate software without hardware. Therefore, the question, “are you going to buy a PC or a Mac?” makes no sense, Apple also does not allow you to buy their software only. You have to buy an Apple computer and Macintosh software. Don’t let Apple confuse you.

Microsoft has also committed this crime, on a smaller degree. On their website, they use the same argument. The proper argument would be “Windows V Macintosh” (Software/Operating system vs. Software/Operating system)or “Microsoft vs. Apple” (if you were comparing companies).

I hope you like the paper and I hope that you have gained some knowledge. Please do not use these terms in ways that do not make sence or tolerate those who do. To learn about “Windows VS Macintosh”, read my next article. It describes some of the benefits and cons of each. Fun Fact: Bill Gates (owner of Microsoft) and Steve Jobs (owner of Apple) once worked together. They eventually stopped doing so because Mr. Gates wanted to sell software only. Mr. Jobs wanted to sell hardware AND software.

Hoping you learned stuff,
